CS Spectre and Caledonian any feedback or other recommendations

I have a Spectre and while technically not all that specific as to its use or what its supposed to be used for as far as functions I like it and find that its very well built. Be aware the locks on these things are monstrous to deal with until broken in. They are incredible though and quite nice for strength. The two I've had have sported some seriously strong lock ups that I'd put up there in the top tear of liner locks. That Peerless lock they use is really peerless in liner locking folders from what I have seen. I bought both of mine on ebay for buy it now prices that were less $ than anywhere I have ever seen them and got them right away. Can't recall the guys handle but I bet he'll show up if you search. He sells them for less than anyone else out there. I understand from dealers that his prices were 5% under dealer cost but they are still quite expensive.

Read the review.........Great and you like the knife for the same reasons I do.

How is the wear (sp) on the top layer, polished Blade?
 
I am not sure I understand what you are asking me. Sorry I just can't figure wear. You mean how is the knife for lock wear??

No you mentioned in your review that with each cut the sides of the polished blade was getting marked up :confused:

But now that you offered how is the lock holding after ~2 years of use?
 
It got silky smooth and stayed that way since with solid contact and nothing but the highest praises.

The blade is, as I said laminated with a softer outer and harder inner core for the edge. The softer steel scratches very easily. The blade became unsightly within a week. Buy this knife and don't use it for even slicing a thin strip of hard wood because any use at all will make it yours so if the thought of returning it in its original condition enters your mind and you cut with it, forget it. It would be noticed I'm sure.
