Hello fellow CS fans. A bit ago I purchased a CS Trailmaster O1 to play with. I have played around with it, hacked some limbs, chopped some stuff, just generally played around with it. So far I like it a BUNCH. Recently I decided to sharpen her up a bit. As some of you know, sharpening a knife this large can be a challenge. I decided that my Work Sharp had done so great on my Busse's, it would be just the ticket for my CS Trailmaster. I started with the green belt, and I got a nice burr after about 3-4 passes. I then switched side and did it again. Next I went to the red belt and did the same. By the time I went to the purple belt, she was already darn sharp. When I finished her up after all three belts, I was rewarded with a smooth, very sharp, convex edge. Just wanted to let y'all know that this system has continuously been a fantastic way to get very sharp edges on very big knives. If you have a Work Sharp, give your CS TM a run. You won't regret it.

I had never heard of those sharpening systems before, until today. I was at one of our local stores, and they had one set up on the knife counter.
They are kinda cool looking, and I wondered how well they worked. Sounds like it works just fine. Priced very reasonably too

I do my all CS machetes with a WorkSharp with great results.

Vegas, post up some pics if possible! The trailmasters look great with a good convex edge and cut like crazy.

I also have a worksharp and have used it with great success on a lot of blades. With that being said, not every shape and style is well suited for it in my experience. The trailmaster should sharpen nicely on it though as my laredo bowie sharpened like a laser with it. Those more standard clip points are perfect for it. I actually think the worksharp is very underrated and is a huge innovation when it comes to sharpening. I haven't tried the improved ken onion version yet.

Now you just need the KO edition and the Blade Grinding Attachment. Then.some linen belts and CBN. Then things will.be getting really sharp

Im planning on the KOEWS this month, and larger knives, machetes and ol' beat up users that need a new lease on life were just what I was lookin' to start with.

Somebody'll bring you a knife that you frankly dont wanna spend 8hrs. on a DMT XXC stone giving CPR to.

"Worksharp---zip,zip...done!---next!" sounds a helluva lot better than "worry-warting" a lesser quality blade.

I'll reset edges/bevels w/ WS and attachments, and finish w/ DMT or Spyderco when need be.....Info on belt longevity is my next question..

Thanks for the review!!
