CS Tuff Lite vs Mini Tuff LIte

Was looking for a small EDC knife and the CS Tuff Lite series caught my eye. Really like the wharnie design and can't argue with the overall package at that price point. Thought my decision was an easy one until I saw there was a "mini" version as well. So, I am hoping someone that has used either/both could help me choose.

Is the difference in size worth it, as far as weight and length, to go with the mini? Does the minute increase in length with the Tuff Lite and size of handle really affect performance enough to warrant the increase size in pocket?

Thanks in advance!

The mini has been discontinued, so the question is probably moot at this point. There are some still around but they are disappearing fast.

I have both, and the mini is just a little too small for me. The Tuff Lite on the other hand is in my pocket always. It is bigger than the mini but not big, if you know what I mean. Don't wait, get one.

The full size is, IMO, MUCH easier to open and close one handed. Also, on the full size, the pocket clip can be swapped for lefty carry, not so on the mini. The handle is more comfortable IMO on the full size, but the mini still has a very comfortable grip, allowing a full four finger hold.

Honestly, I say pick up a mini, since they are going to be discontinued. There are still some available if you look around. After that, pick up a Tuff Lite if you can. That way you avoid any potential "I-wish-I-had-bought-that-knife-before-it-was-discontinued" remorse.

Knifecenter has the Minis on discount, as does Knifeworks. Knifeworks still has the Minis in 2 of the 3 sheeple-friendly color choices as well, although the handle is small enough that it disappears in the hand in use. Personally I prefer the Mini because it's less of a pocket hog given the curve of the spine on the Tuff Lite, and the two are nearly as thick.

I recently got the regular one and was surprised how "tall" it is when closed...seems like they could have slimmed it down a bit, especially if they went with a thumb stud instead of a hole. Just ordered a Mini to see how it compares.

Just got the Mini, and this is very true. Too small for my liking, so it's back to the regular one for me, but glad I gave it a shot.

The Tuff Lite is a great little knife for the price. Fits me like a glove as it does many.

The mini has become one of my favorite small carry knives. I'm glad I read this thread because I had no idea they were discontinued! Time to order a few more!

The mini is an AWESOME little knife and a steal at $20. It's not that hard to open one-handed with a little practice - it had about the same "learning curve" for me as the Spyderco Dragonfly.

I've been meaning to pick up a Tuff Lite for some time now. This thread makes me want to pull the trigger asap!
