Hi guys,
I am from Kiev, Ukraine.
Yesterday I got Cold Steel Voyager X2, very good knife, but I found one strange thing.
Here is it

What is this? Some bug or not?

Hey Max....

No I don't think it's a Big..

My X2 is ground the same way...

I just think it's the way the lock is ground..
Probably so it engages smoother...

One guy told me, that probably its to slow down the blade when you fold up the blade by one hand (so not to cut of your fingers) :)
May be he is right.

Max, welcome to Bladeforums!

I have an X2 and a Vaquero Grande. They both have the same handle and the same indentation on the tang.

I agree with the guy who told you it's to slow the blade down. When you release the backlock, the heavy blade swings down but stops about 1/3 of the way. Otherwise, it would be extremely unsafe closing these knives one-handed.

It is a detent put in the tang for safety. It does slow down the blade a bit during a closing action.

They are all correct about it being a safety detent. Cold steel used to tout this in older catalogs

It is not a big deal. It was enough that you had to take a better look and then take pictures? I would take it back and get another one just like it. Maybe they will hold it till another is shipped if they dont have one more. If not it may get better with time.

Not sure what you mean. No offense but I guess you did not read the other posts. It is supposed to be there and it exists on every Voyager, larger or smale, clip point or tanto.
