Which one of the two would be your choice for an EDC and why?

Input appreciated.

Thanks!

I have the endura with the wave feature. It develops side to side play with few deployments. I haven't had a chance to use a voyager but every other cold steel folder has been a hard use worker and feels solid as a rock

Personally Id go with the Endura. Mostly because Im not much of a CS fan. The AUS8 steel doesnt hold an edge for too long. And not sure how you are with knives, but the Endura is thinner, lighter, and is probably more comfortable to EDC. Plus its available in a variety of colors, blade finishes, serrations, grinds, etc...it has a wider variety than the Voyager. The only plus Id give to the Voyager is that its a lot stronger.

I've rotated a couple of Enduras out throughout the years, stupidly. I'm sure I'll do it again, though. I don't recall ever owning a CS folding knife. The Voyager, to me, looks interesting due to the improved locking system, but I'm somewhat weary of the compactness as the handle is considerably larger than the blade.

I used to own both. Each one is a really nice larger edc knife. CS gets kicked around some here, but my (very) abusive blade testing of their AUS8A has shown it holds an edge better than people give it credit for, no edge rolling either. Compared to Spyderco's VG10, it will need to be sharpened a little more frequently. For ease of carry I would give the edge to the Endura.

I have and like them both. Actually, I have about 10 Enduras, but thats beside the point. The Endura is so much easier to carry that I would have to go with it. The Voyager is a fine pieces of knife, no doubt, with a killer lockup, but I generally like a nice, thin knife, and thats the Endura. My polished Voyager does look sweet, though.

I like the CS triad lock a lot. The voyager series is a tough knife, with above average slicing capabilities. CS comes with a stellar edge.

As said, the endura will be a bit smaller in the pocket.

I personally find the Spiderco hole visually offensive. I just can't love them. In my heart of hearts I feel like they took out roughly 1/3 of the blade at the point where you need the strength (base of the blade). Don't get me wrong, I use and carry pretty thin knives, and the Endura will probably be plenty strong. I am trying to overcome my desire for "stronger" knives. As I prefer a cutter over a pryer. I have some pretty thin slip joints, and don't worry about breaking them, so it is probably a totally mental thing.

I'm yet to meet a CS knife that I like. I don't like their handles, and I'm not a huge fan of AUS-8 steel, even though I have and use a couple of RAT-1s. Conversely, I had an Endura in ZDP-189 and it was awesome. Stupidly I sold it but finally got a VG-10 Endura 4 FFG delivered today and it's like being reunited with an old friend. In your situation, Endura all the way. Better steel, more comfortable, lighter/smaller.

Endura all the way

You need to check out the FFG version. Pretty slick.

I really like the old school Voyagers with the vg-10 and older body style.

I think I'd still rather go with the Endura.
