I have been doing alot of reading on theese folders. My main question regards weather to get a tanto or a clip. I have read alot of good arguments for and against but I cant make up my mind. So here is the situation: My EDC is a leatherman wave, The coldsteel is going to be used for SD.
I figure that I got most cutting tasks covered by the Wave so I am kind of leaning towards the tanto.

What would you choose?

Any help is very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I kind tanto points to be more impractical for utility use. It is also not as well adapted to stabbing into soft targets. The major advantage of the tanto is that the tip is very strong, and designed to withstand hitting hard targets. I would personally go for the SP as it is more useful for EDC, and that is where it will must likely be used.

Since you use the Wave as your "pocketknife" the Voyager
you chose can be in the 4" > 6" range to allow for increased
use as a larger utility knife also. With that thought in mind the
clip would be the most logical useful choice all around. Tanto's
are not all that useful overall so buy the plain clip point.

The Voyager line uses Aus-8 steel which is an ideal utility steel
that takes a razor edge. Put that in a large Voyager and you'll
not have to tote a lot of extra hardware everyday to cover a LOT
of bases.

I have both a clip and a tanto Voyager (4"/large). The clip is handier for all-round utility work but I take the tanto when jogging for SD. The hollow grind on the tanto is past scary sharp and the tip is very strong. But either would do.

Get yourself an extra large plain-edge clip-point Voyager. Those are sort of like a folding Bowie-knife!.:).
