I JUST GOT A COLD STEEL WARLORD!!! YES I AM SHOUTING. Jeez I was looking for one of these things for years. Just thought I should announce it. The think is massive. Don't really like the leather sheath, but who cares it's a beast. I'm reluctant to use it 'cause it's almost impossible to find, but at the same time I'm dying to try it out in the mini bamboo forest near where I live. Anyone else have one/use one. I appreciate as much info as possible on this beaut.
 

The heat treat on some of those didn't come out quite right resulting in a bias towards the brittle side. If you got one of those ones, the bamboo might win.
 
Thanks for the tip. Hopefully not the case in my area. Don't ask how how a bamboo forest shows up in NJ, but it's generally thin and easily cutable around here (chose it as not to wear the blade). Do you by any chance know the hardness or the type of metal?
 
I got one and tried it out on tree limbs only 1/2 inch in dia. and the blade cracked in half. The cross-section was way to thin to do anything useful with it. Sent it back to Cold Steel and they said I could not get another, only credit my account. It was a piece of junk, and I really liked Cold Steel Stuff. Cold Steel does have a new type of chinese Warlord.

Where did you get the Warlord? I think there are a lot of BFC members that would love to get their hands on one. Thanks.
