I dont think they will ever send you an email or status update. If you are getting a replacement, my experience is you will get a Fedex Shipment notification within 2 week with your replacement. You dont need to wait for their email or call as the replacement is done automatically.

I have used the warranty 4-5 times. If i have issue with the product, they always just replace it with a new one, even for small cosmetic flaws. I just send mine in with a note on the issue, contact info and my return shipping address, and I'll get a replacement within 2 weeks(i live in socal so shipping is fast). I think it's much more convenient than ZT or Benchmade as i dont have to print or fill out a form.

If you wanna check the status, you can just call them and tell them the tracking number or your name/address and they should be able to look it up for you. Don't even bother with email IMO.

Oh man. Good luck. I have had 24 attempts to get clips, all were failures, I know at least 7 people Who spent a pretty penny on there 4 Max, and instead of sending it in to have them repaired because of the faulty back portion they just decided to sell it and take a loss. You're a much braver man then I'd ever be to send my cold steel in. It's easier just to buy a new one and sell yours, had a slight loss. Honestly buddy it's not worth the headache. They make a fantastic knife, just not worth the headache.

Let us know how this ends up I'd love to hear it ending up at least somewhat positively.

I sent my 4max back late last year took about a month and a half including shipping to and from Canada, it was a bit tough getting a response to my email but they did respond eventually.

so i got my knife back . and sure it has a new back spring. but someone sharpened it AGAINST MY INSTRUCTIONS . i sent an email and a physical letter with the knife, and whoever sharpened it took a huge amount of material off the edge. it was a mirror polish when i sent it in. now its a ground edge with a recurve . what the hell.

i said DO NOT sharpen.

but they got back to me and offered to replace the blade . they apologized and have fixed the issue. so far i am satisfied now .
