I ordered a 690 last week, and it arrived today :)

I like it :)

I wasn't sure about the whopping weight and thick (.180") blade, but man it seems as strong as can be.
It came hair popping sharp. (Large fresh bald spot on my leg is the proof...hahaha)
The sheath is nice, and easily fit a full size Alpha Folder in the pouch. I slipped a smaller Alpha Dorado in it for the day.
I am betting the new 830 Marksman would be a nice fit in the pouch too ;)
It fits in the hand very nicely and comfortably.
The handle scales are removable, so maybe someday I will personalize it. (Stumps stag thread keeps popping in my head ;) )
I will likely ditch the dangly paracord at the bottom, but not yet.

Nice. I thought they were bigger than that. That size looks verry functional.

That is why I chose this model over some of the other tactical category bucks.
4 1/2" blade, and I believe a 5 1/2" handle. (I'll measure the handle later to be sure)
Very thick blade and full tang.
I believe this knife is nearly indestructable.... it sure feels like it!

Another thing that is good....
In the web sales photos the tip of the blade looks really stubby, more so than the folding model.
In person, it has a great tip. Still a super strong shape, but pointier than the web sales photos suggest.

Glad you like the fixed blade. Im a big fan of the original CSAR-T folder. I have held the fixed blade a few times and have never warmed up to it.

I came really close to ordering the folder instead! I probably will later this year.
I have the new Marksman 830 on order, and it is supposed to be the same category, so figured the CSAR-T folder could wait.

I checked this morning, and a 110 fits in the sheath pouch too.
So does my Leatherman Charge Titanium.

The more I hold this knife, the more I like it :)
I just need to find something that needs cutting now....hahaha

OK.... I posted this in the sunday picture show, and figured I should copy it to here too :)

Inspired by Bighaze and his shaving sharp vantage....
This CSAR-T 690 came from the factory hair popping sharp.
Today I gave it a test....

Tactical shave :)

Factory edge provided a pretty darn good shave, and a dry shave to boot!
Shaving cream would have been cheating....hahaha
