Anyone own one? Would you recommend it?

....Over an RC-4?

I would stick with the rat 4. In a nutnfancy video on you tube he was just chopping some limbs in the winter time and the CSK blade had a large chip of the blade break. Check it out on youtube.com:D

The nutfancy video is a one-off; I don't know what happened with that knife.

I have one and would definitely recommend it as a really well made knife.
But the edge is thin, IMO it's definitely not designed as a camp knife. It's similar to the Camillus CQB1.
For an all-around camp knife, I'd go with the RAT.

Yeah I did see that video btw. I think that something is up there...maybe it was just that one blade or maybe he was using it too hard. I just figured I'd grab some opinions. I've been wanting an RC-4 for a long time, I'll probably do that, or maybe I'll go Fallkniven, I've been wanting to try out an A1 for a while.

Definitely doesn't stack up to an RC-4. And the sheath sucks--the leather looks like it came from a flea market.

There are better choices for a tool steel survival type knife which will require less maitainance, and cleaning then 1095. I would suggest something in a-2 instead.

What? maitainance? lol
it's not a car it's a fixed blade knife

I have nothing but good things to say about the CSK II. I've used it hard with no issue, and good edge retention. I couldn't recommend it over an RC, any more than I could rec an RC or the CSK. Both excellent blades.

Yeah I own several RAT knives, just not an RC-4. I have to say that 1095 is my favorite steel when heat treated properly. It allows for great field sharpening and edge strength. I don't care if I have to oil it once in a while

The sheath is functional, but I would have preferred it if they stuck with the previous Eagle sheath. Its not an issue for me since I use a Spec Ops Survival sheath for all my 5-7inch fixed blades.
