Tossed up between posting here and WSS forum, so I hope this was the right choice.
Anyways I've seen a lot o hype about the monolithic water filters, most notoriously available from cheaperthandirt (part camp-354) for camping/emergency water filtration. They seem to hold up to basic scrutiny and I haven't heard of many problems but the one answer I have been unable to find focuses on the "N" of NBC. Not that it is terribly likely (and not that I wouldn't want to be gone ASAP) but there is a facility in this general region and would like to be somewhat prepared in case of contamination. Do anybody have any info on the filtration this might offer for radiological contamination?
