Has anyone gotten around to comparing the newer BD1 Voyagers to the AUS-8 models?

Has anyone even gotten their hands on one of the BD-1 models? Thoughts?

I carried an AUS8A Clip Point XL as my work knife for years. It was my go-to blade for shows and events (alongside an XL Vaquero for bigger rope cutting tasks behind the scenes on demo vids)
I switched up to the BD-1 model for 2015
It's cut a lot of cardboard and zip ties, pried open a few crates and cut a bunch of rope and plastic. Nothing crazy, just a lot of day-to-day set up and tear down chores.
I noticed a considerable difference in edge holding
I was pleased with it.
I'm looking forward to seeing other reviews and tests

I have picked up the new CTS-BD1 version.

It came much sharper than the previous Aus-8A version from mid-2011 did.

I haven't used it enough, since I switch off carrying different knives almost everyday.

I expect it to be a while until it needs sharpened though.

I think that it was worth the price. It is about $10 more or so than the previous Aus-8A version was.

Thanks for that. Just the kind of info I'm interested in. Likewise. I'd like to see some other performance reviews of the two. I read that BD1 is the American equivalent of GIN-1 (G2). I must confess, I've never owned a knife in GIN-1, but I was told by a fellow knife enthusiast at a local shop that it had a bit more chromium than AUS-8, thus making it a bit more rust resistant, however, it would hold an edge about the same as AUS-8. Yet I've read some statements claiming that GIN-1 was somewhere between AUS-8 and 154CM in edge holding ability.

I just got one of the new Voyagers in CTS-BD1. Looking forward to putting it through it's paces.
