Here's a little photo essay on my favorite GEC pattern, the Cuban cigar, patterns #53 and #54. I'm not quite sure why they chose to use two pattern numbers for these since they are exactly the same equal end frame, but the #53s (stockman, muskrat, furtaker, cattle baron) do not have half-stops, while the #54s (whittler, big jack) do. ENJOY!
How about a group shot, 19 in all
First close-up is my favorite, the stockman
Left column, top down: cracked marble, water snakes, Mexican bocote, blue oyster, coppertone
Right column, top down: red wine, exterior ram's horn, red stag, genuine stag, snakewood
Another 3-blader, the 3-backspring whittler
From the top: antique amber bone, smooth banana peel, candy red
Now for my 2-blade jacks
From left: burnt stag furtaker trapper, burnt grizzly big jack, amber harness, burnt stag big jack
And lastly, a couple yellow roses
From left: jigged cattle baron, smooth muskrat furtaker
They show an interesting variety of bolsters, with plain, pinched, ringed, slanted and parallel slanted.
Also a variety of swedges and nail pulls, with different combinations between GEC, Tidioute and Northfield.
Thanks for looking!
