CUDA Dominator...?

 I can't find a dealer that has Cuda knives in my area. I'm wondering if there is any mechanism to prevent the blade from "popping" open while in your pocket, on the assisted opening knives like the dominator with the ROBO assisted opening mechanism. It seems kinda dangerous not to have something to prevent the spring loaded blade from spriniging into action when your not ready for it, you could get your legs cut up pretty badly it seems, if the knife opens while in your pocket and your just walking around. I want to buy a Dominator, but I can't find one to inspect in person, and I don't want ot pay a heap of money over the internet, for a knife that I'm not sure about, and might end up being affraid to carry.

Thanks for your input

Chuck, they've sold a lot of Dominators. It's a very popular knife. I haven't heard of even one case of the knife opening inadvertently.

I have the Sizzle, the tiny version of the Heat. Like the others, it opens when the blade has been partly opened manually. Could pressure on the flipper push it that far open in your pocket? Evidently not. But I would not leave it lying in the bottom of a pocket with keys or change or anything else to bang up against it. I wouldn't carry it in a pocket if I were playing a contact sport, either.

I've carried my Dominator a lot, never had a problem or thought of having an accident. It's assisted opening, but you got to make it happen.

Great knife...you'll love it.

The Dominator definately takes a stronger force to open than any of my assisted Kershaw's. I have never worried about it opening in my pocket. A.G. Russell offers a non assisted opening version you may want to look at although it is more expensive.

The way the Dominator is set up, you have to move the blade approx. 30 degrees before the spring take over. If you don't go beyond 30 degrees, the way it is set up, without any further pressure to open, the blade will close with any jostling or impact.

Thank you all for your input, I will be buying a Dominator very soon. Again thank you for your time & input, I appreciate it.

FWIW I'll chime in too -- it takes a very deliberate push on the flipper to open the Dominator, and as others said, you can even push it open part way and it won't open further. I feel perfectly safe with it in my pocket.

Ive been carrying a Dominator for about 6 months, has not come open on its own yet while carrying it.
