CUDA Durability?

Would you all with CUDA's tell me about their long term functioning and reliability? Does the opening mechanism get dirty?

My husband has carried his CUDA (CU1ST) for quite some time now and he tells me it only gets faster with use. Part of the slide mechanism is Teflon coated and intended to do just that.

Thanks. I was looking at a combo Damascus blade CUDA but did not want to spend $180 on something unreliable. Now that I know it is a good mechanism the Damascus model is gone!
