I have been looking at the cuda maxx on various websites and i have a question. Most of the cuda maxx knives i have seen have the blue titanium handle; however, i was looking at the maxx on the website www.dirtcheapknives.com and their maxx seems to have a black handle. Is there a choice of color in the handles? If so which color looks the best?
-Thanks

I think you will find that is just how the picture came out when they shot this particular knife. There is some color variation on the CUDA Maxx's from light blue to a gray. I persnally like the darker color.

I have noticed that the orginal production run (or runs) of the Maxx had some problems with the handle coloring. The anodizing was a bit uneven and "blotchy". I ordered mine from a later batch and it is very even dark blue gray. I don't know if they have had any further improvements.

When you order a Maxx, you take what is shipped, without chosing handle colors. I would advise ordering from Roger at Bayou Laforche Knife Works. He is only shipping from subsequent production runs. Most likely no one has any of the first production runs left anyway.

yozuri82, for your information, I read that A.G. Russell had numbered Cuda Maxx's (that were from first run). I don't know if they're still available but you can check with them if you're interested.

jayharley got it right when he said that you just take what is shipped when you order by mail; however, it doesn't hurt to request certain characteristics when you place your order. Some dealers are better than others in trying to accomodate their customers.
