CUDA MAXX Loose

I have a Cuda Maxx, and I'm gererally quite pleased. I am wondering if anyone else has had problems with the 3 spacers (holding the titanium plates in place) coming loose?

Recently I noticed that two of the spacers were becoming loose. What size torx wrench do I need to retighten these?

Also, the sharp edge of the blade is hitting the middle one of these three spacers, and it's dulling the blade at that point. Will that be corrected if I tighten it up?

thanks

Hi Richardson, and welcome to the forums! You'll find a wealth of info here along with some mighty nice folks. As far as tha MAXX is concerned you would need a T6 to tighten the screws that hold the spacers in place and the handle halves together. I would use a medium strength threadlocker when I tighten them to prevent inadvertant loosening. The pivot bolt requires a T10 to tighten it. I would think that you need to tighten up the handles and then see if the blade is still hitting on the spacers, if so then you will probably need to return it to Camillus. You didn't say if it was a clip point blade (bowie) or the new dagger style blade.

Again, welcome aboard!

My Cuda Maxx had that problem of the blade edge hitting the center spacer. Tightening and loctiting the stop pins on the blade cured it. The stop pins were barely finger tight after some use.

I'm happy to say that Camillus took good care of me. I e-mailed customer service, but my post was intercepted by Will Fennel. He told me to send it in to the attention of a particular engineer. I sent it in last week. I got a call early this week informing me that all issues have been corrected (they even replaced the blade -- there was an out of spec hole) and that it's in the mail...

THANKS CAMILLUS...

PS.. I wish I would have requested the "out of spec" blade be returned to me... it would be easy to turn into a good fixed blade...
