cuda maxx pivot pin problem

I am quite pleased with my 5.5 maxx. Good fit and finish, good blade geometry. However, when I went to do some maintenance the pivot pin threads galled (I assume) preventing any further loosening or tightening. I contacted Camillus by e-mail and of course they said send it back. I am from Canada, and I do not wish to risk losing the knife in the mail, or to eager beaver customs types. I would like to know if there are after market pivots available as well as oilite or similar washers to replace the plastic ones. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would guess that it isnt't galled but maybe loctited.
Try heat.
Since the Maxx does not have a "keywayed" pivot, try loosening the pivot with the blade open and pressed to either side to "sieze" the pivot.

If this doesnt work, sedn it back!

The washers are teflon.
