I have a Cuda Maxx bowie shaped blade knife. What holds the blade closed? My knife opens with all most no pressure on the little hand guard. I was carrying it in my pocket because the clip got broken when it hit a door frame as I went through it. I reached into my pocket to get my wallet and the blade was opened about an inch and I cut my finger pretty badly. I keep this knife very sharp and it is a large blade and it kind of scared me to think what would have happened if I seat down and it went into my leg. THat is why I bought a folder and not a fixed blade because I though it would be safer to carry. What I need to know is if this knife is defective or do all of them open this ease? Should I sent it back to the factory? I love the knife otherwise.

thank you for reading and you replys.

I believe the Maxx uses a ball detent, but I'm not certain. If a tip-down folder opens that easily something is probably wrong. I'd send it back.

It is a detent that holds the blade closed. As suggested, check the pivot to make sure it is tightened correctly. If that doesn't resolve the issue, send it back for repair.
