Is Talonite worth more than double the price
of a Cuda Talon?
$89.00 vs $199.00?
(best price I have found)
Anyone own both? 154 and Talonite?
How do they compare (same knife)?
Also is Talonite magnetic?
Plan to use it as a skinner/ all around knife.
Thanks in advance.
I know ts has been hashed out many times.
Have read for hours now (old posts)
Just wanted to see what the latest was on the subject.
I am familar with Stellite, but it has always been
overlay.
How good is the 154CM used on this knife?
You dont hear too much about it?
Just the Talonite.

Is Talonite worth the money???

It is to me and several others but I cannot answer for you.

I don't believe that you would be disappointed with either version of the Talon.

154CM is a good steel and Camillus does a very good job heat treating it (at least on the 154CM EDC).

Talonite is an exceptional blade material for skinning and hunting knives but it is quite expensive. It is totally impervious to staining and it holds an edge exceptionally well in this application. It is also IMHO easier to sharpen than 154CM.

As a skinner, it's just plain hard to beat talonite. It seems like the stuff will cut flesh *forever*.

It's just hard to choose for someone else what is acceptable cost vs. performance. It took me a long time to bite the bullet and buy a talonite Talon...even after using it, I had to go through the same justification process in deciding between the talonite EDC and 154CM EDC. It was a tough choice, simply because of the cost difference...but I have a talonite EDC on the way to me right now.

I didn't *need* talonite in an everyday, non-skinner knife...but it's ability to just keep cutting and cutting and cutting even when it felt dull...and then make it shaving sharp in a few swipes on the Sharpmaker...well it was worth it just for the fun I've had playing with the stuff.

*shrug*
