Hi everyone,

These three knives belong to the survival series and are suitable for the bushcraft, hunting and angling activities. Two of them are MT-4 folders (384-K with handle scales of cocobolo wood and 384-W with handle scales of black/red micarta) and another one is the 327-M folder with the gray/black micarta scales. They are sturdy working knives with liner lock system. Made in the city of knives - Albacete, Spain by Cudeman company.

Blades are made of the Bohler N-695 steel hardened to 58-60 HRC and all was scary sharp out of the box. Each of them shaves hairs with ease. MT-4 series has the blade of 3 mm thickness and 327-M has blade 4mm thick. Both models have liners and backspacers made of stainless steel and are opened by a two-sided thumb stud. Very grippy notches are on each blade spine. Steel backspacer at each handle end works also as a glass breaker. 327-M additionaly has nice ornamentation on the backspacer. MT-4 have elegant bolsters of A-304 steel. Blades have 10cm length, but the 327-M blade is wider and has larger very comfortable handle, proper for people with big hands. Liner lock goes very deep after opening which I think is needed in a such knife for safety work.

Each knife is equipped with the high quality cordura sheath. These sheaths are padded inside and are closed with velcro and small buckle on adjustable strap. Two horizontal straps and one long vertical strap are on the back of the sheaths. These straps are compatible with the Molle system and allow many various fastening options, so you can attach the sheath to the belt, backpack, military equipment etc.

Glad to see some knives made in Spain here once in a while...

Soldik, how do you like those saber grinds? I usually preffer full flats or full convex... My feeling is that they slice better.

Yes, all three knives have hollow ground blades. They slice very good and better than my full flat blades at the same thickness (3-4mm). On the other hand, full flat grinds have better strength during batoning etc. Regarding my experience I can say that the convex blades are good for skinning etc., but convex blades are not suitable for wood processing.

I've reviewed the MT4 in the field. it's a nice knife and we still use it but one thing I don't like is the blade can easily come away from the handle as there is no spring or any kind of indent etc to locate it into the handle. Of course we only carry it in a pouch so this is not a problem at all but certainly the N695 (440C) holds and edge and has good resistance to rusting.
