The latest from my bench :)

Always impressed with the 'quilted' sheaths that I've been seeing here.
So I figured I'd try it on a cue case as a change of pace.
The fellow that received it has "El Cubano" on his office door, bowling ball bag and ball... so I couldn't resist.

Did the type and signature with my wood burning tool... this is a technique that needs to be explored further.

Thanks for looking.
All comments are welcome.

looks very good to me!!!
Love the "quilted" (checkered?) pattern
How did you do it?

Awesome work. I like the burned signature as well. How would you do it differently next time?

Thanks all!
:D
The quilt was cut with a swivel knife and steel ruler.
Each line is a ruler width from the other. So cut one, move the ruler so the other side of it hits the cut and make the next cut. Keep going until your done.
Then do the other direction.
Smooth bevel the edges down and it's a quilt.

I wouldn't do anything different, but exploring art with the wood burning tool is intriguing.
I have some cool ideas for the next one.

These cases are fun since it is such a large canvas to work on.

The case looks really good! I haven't shot pool in years, used to be an above average shot.

I can't remember his name, but a while back there was a guy posting on one of the Facebook groups I follow that was doing some absolutely stunning leather pyrography.

It's hard to tell from the pics, are you using a stamp where the lines meet, or is that just the effect that's created when you cut lines like that?

Beautiful work by the way.

Thanks all :)

WK,
The circle where the lines cross?
Yes, that is an additional stamp.
I believe (& someone correct me if I'm wrong) it is called a "seeder".

Sorry for leaving that bit out :)
