IF you might not remember Bruce and I started this design about 10 months ago as detailed in this thread:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...Woods-Sword-Not-sure-what-to-call-this-design

Took us a while to hammer out the details after I sent my drawing to Bruce and then Summer fun kept us both busy but tonite Bruce sent me some pics of my beauty in process. Someone came up the the monicker HFK for this knife so that's what we are calling it. Of course HFK stands for Huge F@#$ing Knife ;) I will post more pics as I get them. I included pics of my drawings too.

The sheath will be a piggy back one that will also hold a more conventional knife ;)

I like it. yea putting a smaller knife with that big knife will be a great combo to have and use.

Bruce emailed me some new pics. Blade is ready for heat treat. Yes the clip and the back will be sharp as well.

that is a freaking beast!! congrats man. very very cool. Is the swedge sharpened? what are the actual specs?

Blade is a tad over 18" handle is 11" made with 3/16th thick 5160. 2/3 of the back and the swedge will be sharpened, but not slice like the main blade the back and swedge have a steeper grind more like an axe.

Now I understand the need to move the cleaver! That is a serious piece of steel......don't come over to New Hampshire, I don't have anything that can match that!!

Very nice! If you don't make and post video of you chopping stuff in half with that monster we're all going to be sad.

I've got a 2 x 4 saved out from a project just for that ;) If it too cold probably find some trees to whack too.

That works, but think dramatic! Maybe find a way to launch a watermelon through the air and slice it in half as it passes you by.

Bruce just finished up my Hudson Bay at the same time. They look like brothers from another mother.
