A lot of people seem very down on the pro-grip. I was wondering why. It is the second Spyderco I have owned. The first is a rescue I bought in the '80s and still use. I like the belly that the non-serrated portion of the pro-grip has and since I travel all over the USA a blade under 3" means I can most always take it with out any worry about local carry laws. Also like the tip better than many of the models that come to a very fine point. AUS-8 is not my first choice in steel, but edge retention and ease of sharpening have not been a problem so far. Have borrowed various models from friends over the last decade or so and for legal carry in office enviroments around the US I liked the pro-grip best.

I agree with you on the Pro-Grip (stainless handled is my preference) and stuck up for it on Sal's culling question. That said I didn't keep mine long. I got it to replace my (discontinued) Hunter and ended up not really liking the kraton on the clip. I tried switching clips Hunter&Pro-Grip but it was never really tight enough again. My buddy loved the knife so much though that he got one and has been carrying it for a couple of years now. The blade type is my favorite and kind of hard to get now in stainless or alum etc. handle. I've got my eye on a Mouse or I think I saw somebody, somewhere here offering a Hunter, new in box, plainedge. Gonna see if I can find it again.
