This site:

is a recommended vendor from the RAT cutlery site. They also have some of the lowest prices. What are your experiences with them? I heard someone say it took 45 days for them to get their knife, is this a common problem?

No offense intended to Cumberland, I'm just being cautious

Thanks

I've bought from them several times. Always delivered promptly with the exception of an Ontario RAT-3 D2. Which Ontario kept pushing out their delivery date. They offered me a RC-3 for the same price (my first real RAT) and I was hooked... the rest is history. Very reputable dealer, IMHO.

It's a good idea to email first to check for in stock inventory, especially as RCs are so in demand, but buy with confidence.

Absolutely a safe bet IMO. I called them to make sure the RC-4 I wanted was in stock, it was, placed my order by phone and had it within 3-4 days. Super nice guy to talk to(can't remember his name though), and very prompt shipping, he actually mailed it out the same day I ordered it!! I wouldn't definitely say buy with confidence from CKW!

I visit with Bill Horn (owner) regularly and have worked several projects with him--I would buy from him in a heartbeat.

Bill also has a construction business (new home builder) so it sometimes takes a few hours for him to return emails. First class customer service...

I have had great service from them. I ordered a Queen Mountain Man in 1095 and had to send it back as it was too loose. I exchanged it for a Moore Maker Whittler. The exchange was "no questions asked" and handled very promptly. Latest purchase was a Queen Classics (1095) Canoe. Again, good price, prompt service.

The RC-4 I recently purchased took 45 days to get to me from Cumberland Knife Works... with that said, I would like to say the the owner of Cumberland Knife Works is a gentleman by the name of Bill Horn, and I truly believe that Bill was doing the best he could to get me my knife as fast as possible. I think he simply got caught selling me something he had no on hand stock for, and at the same time RAT got busy filling LEO orders. Sort of the "un-perfect storm" for me. Bill offered to refund my money several times, however I opted to wait it out. The bottom liine is that Mr. Horn is an honest person, running a part time knife business... However slow (or fast), he most assuredly will take care of you.
