Cure for tight blades?

I have a couple of tight manuals, the worst of which is my new AFCK. I figure there are three ways to cure this: 1) work the action back and forth until it loosens up through wear; B) douche it with a lube; or III) loosen the screws.
I don't like option III so I need your opinion on 1 and B. I think good old wear and tear and break-in does wonders and that lube delays the inevitable dirty work.
Thoughts?

Well, other than just breaking the knives in by use, I'd give FP-10 CLP a try. Best stuff I've ever used.

Be careful what you use to lube the pivot pins on Liner Locks with, I've discovered recently that some lubricant, especialy those with a wax base, leave deposits on the locking part of the tang that could cause a lock failure. On lock backs, Axis type locks, and plunge locks these lubricants work great.

Personally I would loosen the pivot pin and apply removable Loctite to the threads of the pivot screw. But that's me. :D

How about Option 1 on a dry pivot and liners.....THEN option B.

Ought to give you a really smooth action.....but don't overdo the working the dry action befor applying lube....might try for a lube,"Super Lube" as available from MSC, and between working the action dry and the SuperLube, clean the whole thing with some solvent like "LPS Presolve"...but only outside..and wash your hands immediately after using this stuff.

Peace,

Just flush the crap out of the piviot and lock area with WD-40 to clean
out an residual buffing gunk. More than one new knife I've bought needed
a minor cleaning with a bit of lube to work well. ;)

My Sebenza and Benchmade 710HS weren't the smoothest knives when I got them either. I pulled out the blades and sanded all contact areas with 2000 grit wet/dry paper. This smoothed things out quite nicely.
