Was not sure where to post this, but I was wondering, are people buying custom traditonal folders for collecting or for actual carry?

I think you're going to get a wide range of answers. I have 4 or 5 custom traditional folders I carry on a regular basis. I also have a bunch I've not carried yet.

I'm going to move this to the Traditional forum.

From a makers perspective I think most of the folks that have purchased knives from me fall into the same category as Jason. Some of my knives have been carried daily, while others have not seen the inside of a pocket, with many knives falling somewhere in-between.

Carry for special occasions, most of the time reside in a zippered pouch or display case. Depends on the knife and the user. have two custom slipjoints, and have no problems carrying either. Of course, they have micarta and G10 scales, if they were nice jigged bone or stag, I might be wary.

One thing is for certain, when I get my first from you I'll certainly carry it. :D

That makes two of us. For me a knife is meant to be used, scratches and such add to its appearance in my mind. That being said I have a few that where givin to me for weddings and such that I only carry for other weddings or special occasion. I would use them at those events if it was warranted without hesitation though, just too nice to carry otherwise. I guess for me if its something I buy, then its gonna get used as intended.
