I was wondering, do any of you edc these knives and if so how durable are the aluminum handles?
I like to carry most of my modern folders and really love the looks of these. I just don't want to dent up the handle.

I'm glad you posted this thread.

I've been meaning to create a thread on the best bang for the bucks LionSteel.

No doubt it's the LionSteel SR-2 A with a solid piece of Ergal (7075) Aluminum for the frame and a 3.1" blade of the venerable tough Sleipner tool steel. Ergal Aluminum is as strong as most steels and the LionSteel SR-2 A is actually an aluminum frame lock but with the added replaceable hardened stainless steel insert it's still steel on steel contact so no issues with sticky locks or lock wear.

On top of all that, I got my gorgeous orange aluminum SR-2 A for just $150 brand new! It's super smooth too. Try it for yourself since the price of admission is so low!

The clip can be switched for left carry and the RotoBlock adds a secondary lock for those trying tasks!

Ooooo! I've had my eye on the SR2 A lately. Was thinking red, but now I really like the orange. Beautiful knife. Thanks for the review and information.

RamZar thanks for the info. I'm really into the green myself (green is my color). I think this will be my next purchas. I'll call it an early birthday present lol.

I have one of the violet SR1-A's and the handle has held up to (mostly, I have carried some others a day here and there but the SR1-A has been my main edc) daily pocket wear since last November. I can see spots where the anodizing is wearing thin but it's not bad. I dropped the knife onto tile floor, I thought for sure the handle would be marred. I had to visually scour the knife for the impact point and all it was is a minimal dent in the handle and the anodized finish has what looks like a small crack exposing the silver aluminum underneath. These have the 7000 series aluminum alloy handle IIRC, they should be pretty tough and hard wearing.

7075 Ergal aluminum is as strong as most steels but expensive. It was developed by the Japanese for the WWII Zero fighter airframe.

Thanks, not at all concerned with the fatigue life. I have been riding aluminum alloy MTB bikes for over 2 decades now and they hold up to serious use. The strength of the handle on this knife is the least of my concerns.
