curious bout this knife

It is a Schrade Cut Co 2203 3/4 It is the pattern that the 2OT was designed from, and they still had the tooling from the old days.

It was in the 1926 catalog, not made as a Schrade Walden knife, to my knowledge. It is a pre WWII knife. There is also a similar pattern with a spear master blade.

thanks for filling in the blanks. i do appreciate all the knowledge that resides here.

Geez, he can thank bidder #2 for pushing the price up an extra $225+ !

It's a nice knife, looks ok, but I would think he is going to have a hard time getting his money back out of that one.

I didn't bid on that knife, but I can tell you that I don't want my money back on but very few knives. I want my knives! My survivors can worry about the money. I sense inexperience and a LOT of enthusiasm in that auction. But you notice he was sharp enough to step over the top of the foolish bidders with a snipe. I am guessing he put in a robot bid for $500.

That is old Charlie's MO, I wonder if that's him. I never sold a knife either but if I had to.... I'd like to get something close to what I paid.

Bernard Levine always states the third highest bid is invariably the truest reflection of the current value of a knife auction...in this case $225.......I tend to agree with his statement in many cases..Hoo Roo...<that is unless its me doing the selling!>

I hope to get more, or else I don't buy them... keep bidding low and you'll win eventually. It takes patience, but it works for a period of time. Then you have to find something else to collect.

I think "patience" is the key word there Hal, but of course if money were no object, I would own them all. It looks like that 292 shows up in the catalogs for at least 2 years 53 and 54 so I would think there are at least a few more out there in good condition and after that auction I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more show up very soon.
