Curious on the original prices for sprint runs?

Is there any website listing the original prices of Spyderco sprints? For example, the Manix or Military sprints. I'm just wondering how much they have gone up in value. Maybe anyone who originally purchased one could note the price they paid.

Thanks all :)

Not all, but Spyderco lists a bunch of current and discontinued sprints, and even some exclusives, on their website. That's where I'd start.

My only 2 sprints (exclusives) are still available:
Tan M4 Manix2 154
Blue M390 Para2 180

If you have questions about specific ones, you might have better luck asking directly, but I'm not sure this is the forum for that.
Good luck.

The street price of a blue Manix 2 was in the range of $130 when new. I bought one, and like a dimwit sold it for what I paid for it. They are now around $200, give or take, if you can find one.

Its helpful also to distinguish between a sprint run, which Spydie makes one time and never again, versus a dealer exclusive which could be produced in larger numbers depending on demand. I think I have that right. So a true sprint run may be more likely to appreciate in value.

But if you just love Spydies, you get one because you dig it and any appreciated value is almost irrelevant. At least thats how I ride, because I have several virginous sprints that I will never depart with. I often buy two. One to carry, and one to stare at. Its an illness. :)

I have some interest in the original prices but OTOH knowing them can be depressing. I think some of the sprints were originally not all that much more than the cost of a standard PM2, and now they sell for up to twice that. For people interested in buying them on the open market they have to decide if the knife is worth the market price and not think about the original price.

For some of the recent sprint runs you can still find pricing on the retailers websites. I also read in a thread about the orange or green PM2 that the prices changed during the time that they were available to pre-order.

There was a blue Manix 2 that sold on Ebay within the last 14 days for $430.00. That's no typo - $430.00, folks. That's a bunch of money for a Manix 2, FFG with S30V. There were at least 2 folks out there that wanted one pretty badly.

I saw that too. Kinda kills the incentive to track down the Blue and CF ones I need to complete the sprint Manix2 collection. The CF ones are just as expensive out there. Can't decide whether to wait it out or sell the others and move on *sigh*.

Dear God! I sold one a couple of months ago for something like $180 here.
