I am a convicted felon in the state of Minnesota, I am wondering if there's a restriction on the type and size of knives I am allowed to carry. I have been doing some research but really haven't found much information on the subject. I really like knives and have somewhat of a collection but I'm looking to expand and I also do allot or walking after dark so I do carry them as well. I just don't want to get caught up for protecting myself. Any info or a point in the right direction would be awesome. Thanks

Check with local law enforcement to be sure before carrying anything. Under ADA laws, you may carry a cane with no need to explain. Get a decent solid wood cane and not one that looks like a weapon.

I agree with SharpBits SharpBits above and would add the following:

Check not only with local law enforcement but with a reputable attorney who has experience with post-incarceration clients. There may be restrictions in the form of regulatory decrees and laws that do not appear in the usual weapons legislation.

In the meantime, https://www.akti.org/state-knife-laws/minnesota/ will be some good reading. I'll add more below.
