This is a belt knife I just finished up. It will be on my table at the OKCA show, coming up in April.
The handle is some superb, curly Bastogne walnut. It is simply holographic in the hand! I tried to give the spine a flint knapped look, and the flats are hammer textured. Oal is 8.25", and the blade is 4". The pins are copper. Let me know what you think.

This is my favourite of yours to date. There are a lot of things that really come together on this. I prefer this more understated look and the flint knapping on the spine is a real treat. Nice balance of texture and bevel on the blade, a very shapely handle reminiscent of some older Burt Foster designs. In fact the handle kind of reminds me of one of his older blue collar hunters but with your own details in the blade that give this a classic look but with fresh aesthetics.
Well done.

You should do a video of the handle, and then tell me where you got that great looking walnut. :p
What steel is the blade?

Yowza! That one is a looker buddy, can't wait to see it in person.

Lovin that handle, I need to pm you about some wood I've got...

Thanks very much for the kind words guys!
Stuart, thanks for the compliments. I am a fan of your work, and you have been turning out some exceptional knives and swords lately! The steel is .125" L6, and the walnut I got from a gentleman in Tillamook OR. It is some of the nicest curly walnut I have seen. I bought a decent size board from him a while ago, but need to get some more.
Thanks Jonny, you have a PM.

Thanks Mark, I think this walnut is my new favorite wood.

nice Ben.... I like the peened texture and the spine. Nice clean little blade.

Do you stamp your mark? Looks so crisp on the forge texture. I'm trying to work on my whole mark lately... I want mine to look like that.

Thanks Scott, I cold stamp my blades with a homemade press. It is basically 2x 1" thick steel plates with uprights in the corners, a 12 ton bottle jack in the middle and my stamp mounted to the upper plate. At this point my knives are stock removal, so I stamp my blades, and then do my texturing.
