Curly KOA Finishing

I've got some nicely figured curly KOA scales I've epoxied and shaped. The pins are all in, and now it's time to finish.

Now what? I've read about raw linseed oil (you guys can probably guess where I read that), Danish Oil, CA, and good old super high grit polishing.

What do you guys recommend, and what's the best way to do it? I tried playing around with Danish Oil and really didn't know how to do it properly. First I tried just rubbing it on pink ivory, but it doesn't look like much adhered. I tried applying it thicker and didn't like how it dried. So, now I'm a little afraid of the Danish oil. Mostly because I don't know how to use it properly.

Any suggestions and instructions will be sincerely appreciated.

I'm in a similar boat and have tried most of what you've read. I've done CA and it looks great but is, as all CA finishes are to me, a PITA. I've also done teak oil, which is pretty similar to danish oil, and I let the whole thing soak for about 8 hours. That worked pretty well, and will be what I do next time. I also just buffed it once. Looked good but was not sealed, and didn't hold up to getting wet. If I were you I'd get everything as smooth as you want it, soak the whole thing in Danish oil for 8-20 hours or so, then wipe off the excess oil, sand at final grit again, and apply a final, thin coat of your danish and let it dry. You might want to put another light coat (or 5) after that, but it is only as necessary as you think it is, which is to say that everyone has different ideas of what is good enough and what isn't.
