Howdy!
After a waiting period of nearly half a year, I am now the proud owner of a small wood inlay sebenza (curly maple).
I feel as the happiest man in world
!
!
Sorry that I can not post some pics, since I have no access to a digital camera or a scanner, yet. But hope I can manage this in near future.
I've been silently lurking (and drooling) in this forum for months and I do not want to repeat all the good words that were spoken about the wood inlay seb - this words are all true!
BTW, the sebenza is not a unknown knive for me, since I also have a small old style (DOB 2-22-94, ats34 blade, marked with a "P"). This knife is my "EDC" - I used (and used and used ...) it nearly every day of the last six years!
And my new woody will also be a "user" - no doubt!
But I have a few questions about this. I learned from the FAQs and archieves that "thou shall not" leave it in direct sunlight or take it with you for deep-sea-diving. (OK, fortunately Austria is not the world center of diving
)
But what's about situations like this (with the wood inlay):
*working with it in medium rain for 1/2 hour ...?
*when it (accidently) falls in water and you cannot get it out immediately (for some stupid reason) ...?
*when cleaning - I did wash all the parts of my plain sebenza with soap and hot water and I also used the ScotchBrite for the scales - but I think I will NOT do so with the wood inlay! Any suggestions about proper cleaning?
.........Now I realize that all my concerns are about moisture/water ............
I sure will not baby my wood sebenza, but I will beware it from unnecessary pain
And don't forget: If I have to send it back to CRK for fixing, this is not so easy from Austria!!
Coming to an end, I have to say that I am very PROUD to own this wood inlay sebenza ...
For me, the sebenza is breathing the spirit of pure engineering!
Thank you all!
Regards
