I am disappointed to find out that CR has discontinued the use of curly maple as an inlay. I know I have seen pictures of a few of these online, and I was really looking forward to getting one for my son to go along with the other maple stuff he has (my dad made him a maple cradle and made maple grips for his Ruger Bearcat). I know the best way to find out would be to call CR direct, but does anyone know if he will take a special request or let you send in your own inlay material? If anyone has pictures of curly maple Sebenzas, please post them. Thanks in advance!

Is this curley?

Dave, that is a beauty and thank you for the pic. I think they only used curly for the production Sebbies and burl for the limited ones, but I could be mistaken. Thanks again!

I believe they used to use curly for the annual edition Sebs. I think ScottDog has, or had one if I remember correctly. I have seen a few of the classic wood inlay Sebs in curly maple recently, and still in dealer stock. Pick up one of those fast if you are worried they are discontinuing curly maple!

Also, I don't believe they will let you send in your own inlay material, unless they have changed policy. I tried to get them to put abalone or mop in one a few years back and they said no.

CRKfan, do you know which dealers might have any maple in stock? I did a few yahoo searches and didn't come up with anything. Thanks!

Thanks to both of you who sent emails. I called them today and they do have one small in stock. Now I just need $400!
