Are the fit and finish pretty much standard, w/standard (not comfort) bolsters? Thanks.![]()
The fit and finish are far above "standard". These have the finish one would expect from the Buck Custom Shop: Flawless.
Ivory Micarta. Dead nuts flat springs in all positions of all blades. Zero Gaps anywhere.
BG42 steel with a Paul Bos heat treat. Before PM steels became common, BG42 was considered to be the ultimate, a goodly step beyond the performance of 154CM and ATS34.
The BCCI has extras and is selling them to the uncircumcised (non-members), such as I.
Mine arrived today. I don't see myself carrying anything else for quite a spell.
Sorry Ribeye, We promoted them too well here at the last. All unmarked ones are sold out of the clubs hands. But, the word a few days ago had 5 with BCCI logo left. (a little sandpaper would cure that) As I understand it, logo knives will be sold to anyone. Contact Buckcustom@aol.com for details.
Thanks everyone for your tolerance on this BCCI project. I was excited to get a BG -42 301 out there and pushed the boundary on what is right and wrong for talking about selling. As I have said, we can talk about what they are, where they were found, but not how much any knife costs. You will have to go find out that yourself. I justified it as being a BCCI sale but that's standing on the cliff edge of the rules. And won't do it again. Thanks to all who helped in this project. I still have hope to someday talk up a fancy metal Buck 303 in jigged bone. But, it may take a while.
