It's still my favorite Emerson.

It just FEELS SO GOOOOOOD in the hand!

I love the feel of that Kevlarish handle. It's the best plastic out there.;)

I have two. Both are clip-point (A), one black, one chrome. Both part-serrated.

I can't find tanto or plain ones anymore.

I got my two fairly recently for less than $100 on ebay.

I just saw one with a green handle go for $117 on ebay! I wonder why people like the green handle ones more?

I'd love to get one of each model, but that would take me a long time and cost me a lot of money, so I think I'll just try and get one more - maybe one tanto or one plain-edge.

I've owned quite a few over the years and, regretfully, kept selling them. I wish I had all the ones I had and sold.:(

Does anyone beside me still love this knife?

.

people seem to like anything uncommon thus the interest in the green G10 EKI's, they never made very many green G10 knives, though they arent rare or snything just not as common as the black G10 models, though the raven wasnt G10 (FRN???) again many more were black vs green.

ravens are ok but were never one of my big favs, good knives though.

The Raven was the first Emerson that I ever held. That lead me to the CQC-7 and finally to the HD-7.

To date, the raven is my favorite Emerson. I have the green handled and the black handled clip blades.
The scales are very comfortable, in my opinion.

got one exchanged yesteday! (marked 2000)
looked cheap at the beginning but i'm liking it more and more, it's a simple well built knife, grease on the pivot was OLD, disassembled it and reoliled everything, smoother than before but i'll keep on working.
i was impressd with the thickness of the liners (did the kmagnet test and it's titanium, magned falls off, so it's original) and of the other components and changed my idea of it, simply build tank knife.

cheers

I've only posted here a couple of times, but the only Emersons I own are Ravens. That's mostly due to the fact that they cost me around $60 a piece off of ebay! At the time, a few years ago, it seemed that nobody wanted them and there were a lot of them that people were trying to get rid of, and the prices reflected that. I love G10 handles, but the Ravens, while more flexible, are much more comfortable than G10 slabs. I'm happy with the Ravens that I have; a black clip point and a satin tanto.

I call my Raven my "gentleman's tactical". It's an elegant smaller Emerson and that makes it a better carry knife than any of the big expensive high-profile models.

I remember when it made the cover of Blade, it was very new and Ernie was thinking of the 2 blade profiles and satin or black and plain or combo edge -- and he was also thinking of other handle colors: black and Army green, but also international orange, UN blue, and I believe a tan as well. I wish! :)

My pairs of 97 Raven E1-A that hand grind by Mr. Emerson.

I remember that. I wish I still had the ones I bought back then. Then I wouldn't have to pay today's prices for them.:D

I actually got rid of the two I had for a couple reasons. The first one I got had serious liner problems. I tried everything, including sending it back to EKI about seven times, but to no avail. The liner would lock the blade so tight that I would have to put a screwdriver in to disengage the liner. I spoke to Emerson about this and they said I wasn't the only one with this problem. They also replaced it with the Blackbird at no cost. That was a classy move on their part and I'm an Emerson customer for life.

Also, the clip moved around quite a bit and the kydron wasn't as durable as the G10. I bought another one and had the same problems with it. I sold that one also.

These are the reasons EKI discontinued it and came up with the Blackbird. Unfortunately, the Blackbird was discontinued.
