so last night, i was reading the OLD OLD threads in the forum (page 100 and beyond). seems like there was a LOT of lagriffe discussion back then when it was new.

i have a question, since i'm still waiting for mine- are the current la griffes shipped with the ball-chain, or paracord?

i'd really like to try taking the strands out of the paracord and threading the chain through it as suggested by some people. if it comes with a chain, where can i pick up a few feet of paracord? would a place like EMS/REI sell it? there aren't many sporting goods places around me, and for a few feet, i don't htink it'd be worth paying for shipping via mail-order, if its as cheap as most thin-gauge rope :)

Dan, at one time the customer was offered two different versions. One was Paracord, the other came with a black ball chain. I don't know if they offer the Paracord anymore.

The problem is, your hanging cord around your neck with a supposed breaking strength of 550lbs. Popular thought is that this is not a good thing and something to be avoided.

Some folks who like how quite Paracord is, but like the lesser breaking strength of the cord do what you are suggesting.

You can pick up 550 cord or climbing accessory cord at most Surplus and Outdoor type stores.
