Anyone familiar with these "Colonel Coon" barlows of current make? As I understand it, they're made by Queen who's leasing the name of a small maker from 1960-1980 timeframe. US made, and run $60-75.

I'm just looking into options for smaller barlows, but still US-made. GEC seems to be the main contender for my attention, but I'm wondering if the current Colonels are also worth a look-see.

If they're nice, might make a neat gift too, as the logo is rather charming.

I have one of the Colonel Coon Barlows and it is one of my favorite knives. Overall quality is typical Queen - very good, the knife is very comfortable in the hand, and the blades are a great size for all-around use. The knife also carries very comfortably in the pocket.

I also have one of the GEC Barlows. It is also very well-made, very comfortable in the hand, and carries very nicely in the pocket or watch pocket. Although I carry mine at work because of blade length restrictions in the office, I don't usually carry it outside of the office because the main blade is too short for my tastes. That is strictly personal preference - it is a very nice knife.
