Hey guys.
Looking for a new, lower priced, EDC pocket knife.
I am a huge history/military buff and for better or for worse, that usually sways my designs when buying things.

Other than what I mentioned in the title, are there any other current production carry knife models that have history?
If it has military history (specifically US) even better!

Even if you have a suggestion that only partially relates to this I would appreciate it!
Just looking for something new.

Thanks.

Here's a TL-29 style knife made by Utica for Klein and readily available. It is a solid, well made, knife.

I have a few of the U.S. Navy issue Camillus TL-29 knives and the one pictured is just as good as any of them.

Marbles MR278, their rendition of the Camillus 1760 "Demo" knife (all stainless steel, "US" on mark side of handle, just like the originals)
I have the Marbles and a Camillus. The only practical difference between them is the Marbles does not have "CAN OPENER" stamped on the can opener blade.
For under $10 or so, the Marbles MR278 is a great deal.

Although the knife pictured is not made by Camillus anymore as the pictured knife is, this knife is now made by Ontario.

As afishhunter said above, Marbles markets it's version which is made in China.

I actually just picked one of the marbles up on Amazon! (haven't gotten it yet)
I will probably also get one or two of the real Camillus ones, just because I like the actual history behind them.

What model is the Ontario version called? I don't see it on their website.

I think they just call it a Utility Knife but you can pick one up from where you are getting your Marbles.

Saks are the quintessential Army knife. Here is the list of countries whose militaries uses saks (and yes I borrowed the list from somebody):

1. Switzerland - OHT, Swisstool, Spirit (old models 1890, 1908, 1951, 1961)
2. Germany - OHT (old 108mm GAK)
3. The Netherlands - Dual Pro X, Swisstool, Spirit (old alox DAK and Centurion)
4. Australia - Swisstool
5. Danmark - Adventurer red
6. Luxembourg - Forester
7. Norway - Swisstool
8. France - Swisstool
9. Ireland - OHT black with print
10. Brunei - Centurion
11. Singapore - OHT, Bantam both black standard scales
12. Malaysia - Outrider camo with Philips and print

And in the past:

Cyprus - Nomad
Nigeria - Champion (red and blue versions with pruner blade)
South Africa - alox soldier/pioneer (nato stock number on scale)

I carried a Buck 301 when I was an enlisted man from 1973 - 1975, then I carried a Buck 105 and a SAK from the time I was a 2LT until I was a Major in the ARNG. There were no GI issue knives other than the DEMO knife (see Modoc ED's Camillus picture above) that I ever saw and I didn't care for them. Most Soldiers furnished their own knives, so what is "military" is wide open to virtually any pattern you like. Later in my career (1990 - 2005) I switched to a Imperial M-4 for my fixed blade because my Dad gave it to me during Desert Storm (he carried it during his ARNG career) and for a pocketknife I used a Kabar medium stockman because it appealed to me more than the SAK at that point in time. Ask different Soldiers and Marines what they carried - lot's of historic variety I'm sure. OH

Although the knife pictured is not made by Camillus anymore as the pictured knife is, this knife is now made by Ontario.

For fans of the demo knife, Josh Brolin and lost causes, I refer to this movie clip. 3 sightings of the demo knife starting around 0:25.

Man oh man... that movie makes me sad.

Would the more traditional Eka Swede models classify here? I mean Swede 38, 45, 60, 88, 82, 92 and probably a few more. These have been out for decades (even if the design may have changed/developed slightly).
