Man. I've had so many knives from various makers. Different designs, some fixed blades, some folders. All mostly handmade.

Then came CRK.

A couple years and too much money later I find myself unsatisfied with any knife other then a Idaho Made. If I get another knife, I dig it, for awhile...then try to flip it for a CRK. I simply can't get enough. How many framelocks does one need? Well, if it's a CRK, one can never have too many. I trade and sell to exhaustion and the only knives I consistently miss are my CRK's.

Not a new topic and probably doesn't call for a new thread, but while I'm sipping my coffee and chain smoking like a test monkey in a lab, outside in thirty degree weather before I get ready for work I thought I'd take some time to gush over the company that has ruined me on any other knife.

With the highest level of quality and the good people that work in Boise to satisfy us picky knife nuts, I had no chance:p

So thanks CRK, you've pretty much ruined any chance for another knife company to get my business:thumbup:

Post your gratitude here, after the emails and calls these people get, I'm sure they'd appreciate a thank you.

Same here. I have had SOOOOO many customs over the years and some that are VERY expensive, BUT, I still come back to CRK. If CRK would do sprint runs of better steels, such as XHP, M4 and even S90V, I wouldn't bee seeking other makers. The only reason I have kept certain customs is because their blade steels perform better.

Hey me too! CRK allows me to enjoy my left hand knives just like all all folks that are right handed.

It's funny cuz I've always felt from day one that my large p sebenza was the standard by which all others are judged. To this day, no folder out there comes close to the original IMHO. I feel both cursed and blessed at the same time, cursed for always wanting to obtain perfection and blessed for having someone like Mr. Reeves and crew creating it for people like myself. You always feel like family when dealing with the Chris Reeve Knives crew and for that I Thank Them Very Much.

Agreed. The few times I've called the factory the phone was answered before the third ring by a friendly voice, the answers were knowledgeable, and even if they tell me something I don't want to hear (no wood inlaid Insingos :( ) I didn't mind so much.
By contrast, I called another quality manufacturer with a great CS reputation a couple months ago about some concerns I had with F&F on a $200 knife. The lady who answered the phone had a heavy Hispanic accent and I didn't get the feeling that she understood what I was trying to communicate. She put me on hold for a couple minutes and then said, basically, "That's the way they're made." (To be clear, I'm by no means a xenophobe. I just think that interacting with customers in a customer service capacity should be a job delegated to someone who can communicate effectively.)

Not only CRK. BUT I blame BBQ BOY and his antics. I think he is a secret shopper for CRK. Or owns stock. Every custom and fixed or production/mid tech we discuss. He always throws in the "it's not a sebenza". I love Spyderco too. In a value, fit and finish level. My Southard? Amazing. Fit and finish great! It's sweet. Apples/Oranges. Most talk with BBQ through email is just filthy knife porn. The stuff he and another guy aquire are crazy!! I feel like a pony leaguer trying to play in the big boy leagues. No big boy pants here! At the end of the day when I am excited about a new acquisition. I hear a voice pulling me back. "It's just not a Sebenza." Thanks CRK. Oh and BBQ BOY I'm sending you some KC Masterpiece!

Nothing but best for CRK and their customer service, pure excellence.:)

Yeah...I'm in the same camp. Haven't carried anything else for any length of time since I got my small CF Sebenza last Christmas.

I think that I am the odd person here. I have been using my small Wilson combat sebenza for several weeks now and I love it! I could go on but other people have done a better job identifying the virtues of sebenzas.

I have absolutely no desire to buy another one.

I have seen some of the beautiful collections posted here but all I really see is the $$$$ I could spend on rifles, scopes and handguns.

I guess I am just a little strange here.

Yeah, a few times when I was about to pull the trigger on a CRK I'd think, "Am I crazy? I could buy a brand new STIHL or Husqvarna chainsaw for what I'm about to spend on this knife." Then I'd buy the knife. It was crazy.

Yea I guess having a few folders that cost a few hundred bucks each is a tad out there....

Luckily so am I :D

I didn't mean to insult anyone! There are some absolutely beautiful knives out there and very impressive collections as well. Just ignore what I haveto say.

I've sold all of my custom folders, except my slipjoints, in favor of Sebenza's. A CRK folder is hard to beat IMO. I have plenty of other production folders, but none compare to the Sebenza.
I still prefer custom fixed blades over any production fixed blades.

I agree Ken. I love my Southard too. But it needs a different scale and clip mod. Imagine a CC scale? Ooh. No matter what I always compare everything I get to a sebenza's fit and finish. Not a lot compares. Besides some Spyderco's as of recent. (For the price point) not the same. ;) I sold a custom recently because, for the money, it could not equal that of my 21 that I sold to get it. Shh! Don't judge. It was fate. Because my new 25 is stuck at a post office currently only 1.5 hours away in Illinois. That is torture folks!
