Here is Curt's top dagger from the Blade Show. A great show, actually, as he sold out of all daggers, including this one.
The work on this dagger, and the engraving, just exquisite in my opinion. And the pommel, well, I have yet to find the
words to describe it. Note that the throat and tip of the sheath are separate, fit pieces of metalwork over metalwork.

Oh, the blade is longer than in appears in this image. It was imaged from behind the guard, obviously, causing the handle to look
too long/the blade too short, when in reality much more balanced, blade vs handle. The blade itself is actually 10"-12" in length.

ps: Best to add the SF knife to this thread, as well. It's in Coop's thread above but might be missed by some - so here it is, as well. Note the pearl carved handle overlay, really cool piece!

The pearl overlay on the SF knife is the one detail (of many lovely details on that piece) that REALLY jumped out at me. The dagger is stunning as well - what is the handle material?

The first dagger is something I've love to own. I've developed a soft spot for that kind of handle material. The SF is beautiful but I haven't become fully attracted to SF knives yet (time heals everything :) ). The engraving on both knives is kind of similar and I think its one of my favorites that i've seen. I love how big and symmetrical it is with drastic contrast in the shading. Wow!

Roger, the handle and oval inlay on the sheath are agate, most likely from Utah.

Jon, the dagger sheath actually has some very different engraving on it, because it is almost all done in french grey, a technique you can learn about if you google it. The "deep shading" you mention is the french grey technique.

Two fantastics knives again from Curt & Julie. They are really in a league of their own and these two rock. Thanks for posting them up.

I spent a lot of time at Curt & Julies table. The SF knife & sheath was the piece that kept bringing me back. I think their San Francisco knives are as good as get. The carved pearl enhances the knife in a way you just do not see on other SF knives. The dagger, well.......it does not get ANY better then that as well. They are without question at the top of their game and I for one was tbrilled to see them at Blade. They are a welcome addition there and at any show they attend.

Both quite beautiful pieces of art. Of the many stunning aspects of each knife, it the the pommel of the dagger that I keep returning to. I don't know how one even conceptualizes something like that and I too am at a loss for words to describe it. I know I keep staring and appreciating.

I had a close-up of the pommel from Curt and Julie, which I'll try to locate on my system. It's really difficult to capture all aspects of the pommel, there's so much there and so well done.

I was fortunate to have had a table right next to Curt and Julie at Blade! They are both talented beyond words, and terrific people as well!I admired both of these pieces right up tot he moment they were sold and whisked away by the new owner, and they were nothing short of amazing!

Rob, here is a separate close-up of the dagger pommel, giving a slightly different positioning aspect. It also highlights the agate material quite a bit more.

I really enjoyed finally meeting Curt face to face at Blade Show.
Conversing with him and Julie while enjoying their fine knives and sheaths was a high point of BLADE.
Curt shared some insights on his construction processes and his knives are much more than beautiful.
