Here's a preview of one of Curt's pieces for the Solvang Custom Knife Show, hosted by Dave Harvey of Nordic Knives, Solvang, California. An incredible piece (description below image), one that LOTS of people will be dropping for, so doubt I'll even have a chance.:( For anyone who has never attended, the Solvang show has for years been one of the absolute premier shows in the country. In recent years, the show has converted to the "invitational style", very akin to the fabulous Art Knife Invitational.

Incidentally, for those who are unaware, Curt has just recently been voted into the Art Knife Invitational (AKI). With a membership of only 25 maker/members and three slots now open, the Art Knife Invitational (held every other year) is the perfect knife forum for Curt's pinnacle art pieces. Buster Warenski (who mentored and trained Curt - and with whom Curt worked) would be proud!

EDIT: Towards the end of page one of this thread, I've added a post showing the most recent page cover of Germany's "Messer Magazin", showing one of Curt's daggers in good company with a Walker folder.

In deference to show attendees, Curt's two major pieces (including the "catalog" piece) will not be previewed here, but will instead be shown for the first time at the show on April 26. The remaining pieces will be previewed here in the Customs sub-forum, over the next few weeks.

Thanks for sharing this, Bob. I have a soft spot for Persian-style knives. I am looking forward to seeing it up close next month.

I think this one will have lotsa drops into the box. I imagine it will even look better up close and personal. See you there, look forward to meeting you, Ken.

Very nice Bob. Someone will be very lucky! I love Julies engraving style and use of materials.

The rules of this forum do not allow you to solicit here. Go pay for a membership and then read the rules. And then reduce that "bay" item you just bought to flip by 75% and maybe someone who is blind to all the brass will think about it.

Best regards,

Might as well add this on to this thread, a most recent front cover from the German Messer Magazin, with Curt's dagger in excellent company, there with a Walker folder:

Thanks for sharing this, Bob. Curt does beautiful work and from the looks of that list, he will certainly be in fine company.
