Hi everyone,

I just received a custom carbon fiber scale for my large 21 sebenza from cuscadi. I had a hard time finding much info on custom scales so I wanted to share some pictures and thoughts to help others who may have interest.

I bought this because as far as I know, CRK doesn't sell their CF scales individually and I wanted the option of having both the Ti and CF scales without buying two whole knives.

Here is the whole album of pictures: https://imgur.com/a/k2z1o

My large plain jane is currently at the spa so my large micarta had to fill in for the moment.

The fit and finish is great, everything lines up perfectly and it installs just as easy as the stock scales with good centering and no blade play.

The only variance from the stock CF scale is the chamfering on the top of the scale near the pivot. I think that is tricky to do with CF without chipping, in fact the CF scale I had from CRK with the proper chamfering had a chip in this area. I did ask Lucas about this though and he is going to get back to me on whether or not he can do it.

Overall, I am very pleased and in fact I just ordered another for my small.

I'm under the impression if you wanted a sebenza with both CF and titanium scales, it's possible to buy a CF sebenza from Knife Art (the sole authorized dealer) or on the secondary market, and then if you send the sebenza back to CRK, you can pay $100 or so for a new titanium handle and they'll send back the CF scale. Others on here that are more CRK experts can likely confirm if this is true.

Wow, that looks great! Fit and finish look on point. I'd love to see a Cuscadi Sebenza scale in LSCF or even some woods.

You are correct, I believe they charge $135 for a titanium scale

As of 5/2/17 the titanium scale is $150, plus they say you need the normal stop sleeve (rather than the flared one that is on the CF version), which costs an additional $5. The turn-around time is about 4-8 weeks and you also pay the return shipping of $17.50. So once all is said and done you are looking at an additional $172.50 for a titanium scale with up to an 8-week waiting time.
