Has anyone ordered custom scales from cuscadi.de for your Benchmade? How long did they take to make and ship your scales? I am thinking about ordering a set but speed is a concern at the moment.

Email them and ask may depend on how busy there are.

This is when speed is a concern have patience :o

I just ordered a ZT 0550 digital Camo scale from them a week ago. It's a little tricky, because of the language and Euro/Dollar differences. But replies to emails were prompt and courteous. My scale was in stock, so they shipped it out quickly. The email response also indicated, that they will build you one from whatever knife scale that you see on their site. We'll see how long this one takes to get here from Germany.

Judging only from the images and comments on the forum, the selection and craftsmanship looks beautiful. My only concern, as I await for my BM Doug Ritter Grip to arrive, is does even this simple Mod invalidate my warranty. If so, as a knife enthusiast newby, I would wonder why.

It could invalidate your warranty because you have disassembled the knife to put the scales on. Realistically, there isn't much to go wrong with the knife, as long as it doesn't have any issues when you first get it.
Many have changed the scales, and not worry about the warranty issue.

I ordered some scales for my spyderco and took about 2 weeks from germany to canada. Super impressed with Luke (Cuscadi).

Not trying to sway you away from cuscadi but I have a set and several other custom scales, the cuscadi scales for some Benchmades are completely flat on the sides and some other makers do the same knives with a rounded factory contour, if it matters to you because the knives fit in your hands very differently. Let me clarify this a little better, I ordered cuscadi micarta scales for a Benchmade mini-grip it took about 3.5-4 weeks to receive these scales are perfectly flat unlike the factory shaped scales. Next I bought a set of micarta scales from ( DOAT, he's great, took about 2 weeks and he said he was busy at the time, also the price is better) these are CNC machined, fit great and feel great I would recommend at least looking at his pictures on his link. Here is the truth about aftermarket scales is fit and finish with the biggest issue I've found is a little bind where the pivot holes are not perfectly centered, so the pivot screw has to be loose to allow smooth opening and closing but then causes side to side play which I don't like. My cuscadi scales are not on a knife now because they have a little bind and I didn't want to send them back to Germany, maybe I got a bad set but I assume they are CNC also.

My first experience with Luke and Cuscadi with scales for my ZT 0550 was perfection. I would love to support forum scale makers. Where could we find DOAT's link? I have a new Ritter MG in need of a new coat.:)
