Has there even been a custom shop 1/8th thick busse machete made? In thinking to order one if possible. Thoughts?

Closest thing I can think of is a basic 10 or 11. Sykco 1311 would be a better bet. What kind of work do you plan to do with it? Hard to beat a condor type machete. Softer steel easy to maintain in field with a file.

I've also been thinking about how good a 1/8" Busse machete would be. I got a Fell Beast machete from Hunter Martin here on the forums recently - 17.5" x 1/8" in 52100 - and it out chops any Busse I own by a fair margin, including the NMFBM fatty, while weighing less than the CGFBM. Something comparable in INFI would be even better - somewhere around 15" to 17" with Res C handle in the SYKCO '11 series style.

I would jump right on an INFIchete! Speed=Power in my book, and coupled with good geometry it will out chop anything I think. I would love to see this offering.

Id like to see a busse machete do more then a chop off then wood.

I think a busse or two along with some other different company knives should have a real chop off! Anywhere from big logs, solid metal chain or a cinderblock. Forgive me if its been done, but all the choping videos ive seen done are usually on wood.

Thats probably because the only thing people chop is wood;)

A "test" like that would no doubt be entertaining but probably end with fruitless results.

I don't think you will see a properly thin machete from Busse. You and I both know that some fools would try to pry with it and then would be crowing or complaining about breaking a Busse. I for one would be willing to have a lesser warranty providing no repair/replacement for prying damage on a machete, but I don't think Busse Combat will ever back off their warranty. I also think this is the same reason we won't see a folder.

I can't say that I blame them.

The only machete like thing I know of that Busse has produced is the legendary Chuckette. It's machete sized, even if monstrously thick.

An INFI SYKCO '15/'17... That would be an unholy monster of chopping goodness.
