My custom 110 finally arrived today. It has s30v steel and the asian water buffalo handles. Its a beauty, not a very good picture though.

I have a custom with the same scales/ns/s30v blade, they are very nice, in fact I got mine out today and looked at it. I was thinking of a cherry wood/ns bolster/s30v blade for my next one. Congrats on the custom, two things make each knife unique, the buffalo horn is never the same and the initials/name are never the same so you do have a unique knife.

Thanks man. I'm just starting to really get into the nicer knives. This one is the nicest I've own to date. My grandfather always had a 110 on him, so I decided to go with this custom one to honor his memory.

You gotta love the feeling when you get a personalized knife from the custom shop. i just ordered another alpha hunter. buffalo scales are my favorite. i was thinking of doing a 110
. . Maybe next time. enjoy

I also have the exact same knife I ordered from the custom shop a couple years ago. It is in my EDC pile and ends up with me mostly when I wear my jeans somewhere.

You have a beauty!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Very nice. I really like the buffalo covers. I've been thinking jigged buffalo for the smaller 502. In honor of my 50th birthday , I bought myself a 110 with the brass/rams horn. Really nice and beautiful knife. I've carried it everyday for the last month. More than I need for everyday, just too proud of it to leave it behind:D

Very nice! It might just be the angle but the profile of the blade looks like the ones on the early 110.

Very beautiful 110. Ive been thinking about customizing a 112FG, with a BG-42 blade and perhaps stag handles.
Only the future shall tell!

That would be cool. Where would you get the BG-42 blade for a 112?

To the OP - congratulations! May you get many, many hours of enjoyment from your CS Buck knife. Be aware - they are addictive!

It wasn't that many years ago that BG-42 was Buck's upgrade blade in their 'Custm Shop'. In fact, the'Alaskan Guide' series made for Cabelas was the only way to get a 110 in S30V then! Here ae a trio of BG-42 knives I have - the bottom one was cheap - ~$83. The middle one - jigged/finger-grooved Asian Water Buffalo - was the ~$25 more. The 'good old days', indeed! The top one is Micarta/G10 scaled and was a Custom Shop production for general sale then.

My last CS goodie was a blue Dymondwood scaled S30V bladed keeper. It, too , was ~$83 - bought to be a user. I like NS bolsters! All CS 110's are too pretty to be 'work' knives. But... I carry them anyway... and a basic one for 'dirty' tasks.

I also have a few of the old custom shop knives and a couple (110's) with BG-42 blades. I asked about the 112 in BG-42 because I don't recall ever seeing one.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm loving it. I'm going to have to work on sharpening skills to be able to work that s30v when the time comes.

D-rig,that 112 is really special !! BG 42 112 blades are rare [like 100 total] who did the handle?

Not really sure who did the handle on the knife I purchased this one from off the bay about two years ago I think the add stated it was from the Buck Custom Shop , and shortly after that this one came up for sale I just had to have it .
