I'm thinking about getting a custom 110 with 420HC bead blasted finish and samber stag handles. What do ya'll think about that combo? About how long does it take for buck to ship the custom knives?

If you are getting a custom---might as well go for the upgraded steel.

What you are planning is the same as a recent limited edition offering---might want to look for one of those first.

My customs took almost 9 weeks---but there are a couple guys here lately that got them in 2 weeks-----all depends on the time of the year---I think.

just my opinion but if I was going to opt for a custom shop 110 I would upgrade the steel.the cost would only amount too a few more bucks and you would have a blade that gives you superior:thumbup: performance.

I think I will upgrade the steel to BG-42. I just really like the bead blasted finish. Would ya'll go with the elk horn or the samber stag?

Where would I go to have a pocket clip put on it? I read somwhere in another post about a guy having a 110 with a pocket clip on it.

howdy ,,, jest my two cents worth...
pocket clip hummm....
well that tells me it is to be a user..
elk stag for a user over sambar is the way to go...
better yet is jiged buff horn...
as a edc user go for the wood !!!!!!!!
two many buck grow legs and walk away with some one else!!!!
elk or stag is jest asking some one to say can i barrow your knife and then it is gone !!!
i have ivory on one and it walked in 10 min behind my back!!
so fancy handle is asking for it if it is a real work user!!!!

if is a fancy to show off some time carry with a clip you are still likely to mess up any antler or horne on the handle...

again your choice you are paying for it ...
jest some humble thoughts...
dave

Yes it is going to be an edc user. Thanks for the advice but I thank I will still go with the elk horn. I dont let anybody borrow my knife. If they need something cut they show me and I cut it. Where would I get the pocket clip mod done?

Hey TB...
I read Decaf's post about his ivory 110 gettng legs and was bummed for him.
Same reason, I like you, have two places for my knives...in my mitt or in it's sheath/pocket.

As for the clip...I too am thinking Muskrat. Does great work. He may be around soon.

I'm afraid I don't do pocket clips. If you contact a fellow here on BFC by the username of STR , he'll fix you right up. He does custom pocket clips and the like, heres his email, tell him I sent you. stborf@cableone.net

I have STR's "low rider" pocket clips on three of my 110s and one 560. Mine are made of anodized titanium, gold colored to match the brass bolsters (or to match the champagne titanium handle, in the case of the 560). He works fast, is very affordable, and he is a real gentleman.

He has his own sub-forum here under the knife maker specific category.
