Just received a gorgeous Custom 112 Ranger from Buck’s renowned Custom Shop: brass frame and rivets, oak grips, S30V blade. Ordered it last November and it just arrived. It is simply stunning and I couldn’t be happier. It came with a hair-popping edge. Hats off to ‘Chris’ at the Custom Shop who built it; fit and finish are perfect. I used to have a Ranger, about three and a half decades ago, but I wore that 440C blade down trying to keep it sharpened. Didn’t have any diamond hones back then and I had to work it on a coarse carborundum stone to get a burr. But I really enjoyed that knife, like all the Bucks that have gone through my hands over the years. I might have been perfectly happy with the standard Ranger in 420HC if I could have found one locally, but while you can find 110s practically everywhere, Rangers are hard to come by. I do like S30V; it seems to have a ‘bite’ similar to D2, maybe due to the size of the carbides. This isn’t going to be a safe queen. In fact, it’s going right on my belt. Now, what to cut, what to cut…:D

Back 7 8 years ago Buck opened the custom shop for 112's. .There was a lot of excitement that you could finally get a true CS 112. So we understand that feeling you have getting one just like you want. I applaud you choice for really using such a great knife! One thing to consider is you can take it even further and make it a truly 1 of 1 work of art. A family heirloom you would be proud to pass on. There is folks on the forum here who do custom work and embleshments, file work or engraving for instance. But the main thing is you have something truly American and special. I love to carry and use a custom Buck. It's like owning ànd using a fine rifle or shotgun for hunting, it makes the experience different.

congrats, Sir. sounds like a nice setup. love to see a pic when you get the chance.

Congratulations on the new 112 Custom. I actually have one being made right now:brass frame/rivets/S30V/Ironwood scales. I became interested in the 112 because I already had a Custom Shop 110 that I wasn't carrying much due to the larger size. Just before Christmas, I happened upon a seller who had a NOS 2-Dot 112 (440C, solid Macassar Ebony scales) with box, papers, etc. I bought it to try-out and loved it immediately. It arrived with a note from the seller saying that he had three more just like it. So I bought all three, gave two as Christmas gifts, made one a daily user, and put the last one with my collection. I've come to enjoy the 112 so much, I ordered a custom and like you; I'll be using it. After all, I'm not getting any younger. May your new Ranger serve you well.

Sir, if you email me the pictures you'd like posted of your knife, if you would like them posted? i'll put them up here for you? just email me through bladeforums email system. if you'd rather not, understood i'll imagine what it looks like, although i don't have a great imagination.:)

Pleasure. If I'd had my 13-year-old granddaughter handy I could have figured out how to do that faster & better:o.

Very nice. I love me some 112! Lost my Vantage at work last week at work (found it the next day), so I strapped my 112 in its brown sheath on for the day, it felt like an old friend. If I didnt already carry so much crap on my belt I'd EDC it.
