I got this from a Saddle maker, his name is Dallas. I had bought some sheaths from him a couple months back. Turned out he did custom sizes, so I sent him my GB AFA, which I love to use. He sent me back this. I thought I would share it with you axe lovers here.

So here is the sheath...

That's really nice, what does something like that cost to have made?
I have 2 or 3 users that could use clothes.

Doesnt like paint on his handles, but will take a designer cover........

((dig))

Nice work, its a beauty!

It's beautiful.

I only question whether is shaped correctly around the heel of the bit. I like a sheath to support the axe close to the eye, not by the heel which can dig in to the sheath. I can't tell for sure how that sheath fits the heel.

Appears to seat just fine on the inside. Time will tell of course. Dallas covers his work.

Skog - the sheath looks awesome. Did you give him the pattern, he make that up on his own, etc? How did you guys come to that design? I take it that if one has the talent, you can do just about any imprint or raised design? Quite a piece, something thAt makes the axe your own. Nicely done.

The tooling design was all on him. I didn't know he was doing it. I had sent the axe to just have a custom fit for it. The reason he put the tooling on the sheath was because I had showed off his sheaths on youtube and another forum, and he was flooded with orders. His thank you for the business. He is a saddle maker first and foremost, and the design seems like it would be what you would normally see on that kind of work.

It's certainly gucci axe kit lol. It should wear nice over the years with use, and not to mention the conversation starter factor.

I really dig it. He did a great job on the tooling. He's got a few extra hours into that carving, stamping, and antiquing. A very nice gesture.

Twist on the axe world no doubt. Now if I can convert you on the painted handles......

Safe to assume we will see that beauty on a YouTube sometime in the future? I can imagine that ace laid out by the stream......

Good that people in this world still appreciate some good word of mouth advertising and reward people for it. Seems like a hell of a guy already, especially I'd he deals in horses.

Good score, congrats.
